Tool Cool Car Stuff got its start in
2003, but had its origin back in the 60’s when founder Tony Laughlin
operated a small mail order speed equipment business while attending
college.
A car enthusiast all his life, Tony
graduated from college and had a distinguished thirty-five year career in
the hospitality business, opening and managing hotels in New York, Colorado,
California and Michigan.
While the hotel business was a great
career, cars were Tony’s passion. In addition to the mail order business,
other college activities included Tony operating the timing lights at a
local drag strip and campaigning a race-car with his dad. These early
activities help cultivate a life long interest in muscle and other high
performance cars. Over the years, Tony was active in the car hobby serving
as a car show event coordinator and show judge. During the last twenty
years, Tony has been active buying and selling high performance and muscle
cars, staying very involved with the hobby.
The research for Tool Cool Car Stuff
started in the late 1990’s. Tony was an active participant in the regional
car shows circuit, something enjoyed both by Tony and his wife Belinda. The
travel, a chance to meet the great people in the hobby and an opportunity to
be around the cars they loved planted the seed for an “automotive” second
career.
An opportunity to have an early
retirement unfolded in 2003. The early retirement allowed Tony to follow
his second career dream, of traveling to car shows and selling quality
products to fellow car enthusiasts. Realizing that an Internet presence
was another way to serve the hobbyist, the Tool Cool Car Stuff web site
evolved.
Our commitment is to have “Seriously Cool
